Cluster B Personality Disorders are characterized by dramatic, overly emotional, or unpredictable thinking or behavior. They include antisocial personality disorder borderline personality disorder, histrionic personality disorder and narcissistic personality disorder. Many have similar or even overlapping traits and characteristics. People with personality disorders may act out early abuse, neglect, violence, and other forms of childhood attachment failures. Codependents with consistent pattern of dysfunctional helping are often are attracted to cluster b disordered people because they are “bottomless pits” of need, which can contribute to the development of dysfunctional helping relationships and abuse.
